10 checklist for Sucessful Drive Projects
1. Make sure the Drives Capabilities
are suited to your needs {Torque Limiting, Dynamic Braking &/or re Gen ect.}.
2. Consider ease-of-use issues, such
as the ability to quickly install and startup the Drive.
3. Determine what the Keypad / Display
requirements are, such as intuitive “plain English” text and Brightness ect., or is an OIP (Operator Interface
Panel) needed?
4. Can the Drive be programmed for
Specialized Applications, such as Winders, Extruders and Centrifuges ect.?
5. What accessories will be needed
{Transformers or Chokes, Resistors, TVSS (Transient Voltage & Surce Supression) Protection for I/O}?
6. What additional Software {IEC 61131,
SCADA} or Network and Communications {Serial Fieldbus Protocols, Ethernet, RF} capabilities are required?
7. Does the Drive fit into the available
space or is a different Form Factor needed?
8. What are the environmental requirements
and does the Drive need to be in a separate NEMA Type or IP rated Enclosure?
9. What Approval Standard’s if
any are required, such as UL, CULcsa, FM &/or CE?
10. Is Installation or
Startup and Commissioning assistance available if needed?
