Unlike
many other scouting programs, Venturing does not award “ranks” to recognize skills and achievements. Accomplishment and achievement is recognized by various Venturing and Scouting awards tailored to the Venturing
age youth.
The
Venturing program has three basic award levels where the Venturer is challenged to set and attain personal goals in areas
of skill / interest enhancement, leadership / character development and service. Where
other scouting sections require members to gain experience and proficiency in various subject areas, Venturers are challenged
to demonstrate and instruct others in addition to demonstrating a high level of expertise.
Making
ethical choices, emergency preparedness and gaining leadership skills are core components to all Venturing award programs.
In
addition to the Venturing program awards, Venturers who hold the rank of 1st Class Boy Scout, may continue to work towards
the Eagle Scout rank. The following Crew 800 members have earned this prestigious rank:
Jon Anderson
David Leja
Dominic Grisafe
Robert Morgan
Cameron Kinnear
