Members of Crew 800 train and practice to serve as First Responders and First Aiders at activities in the community
and during times of emergency. While all members are highly encouraged to complete First Aid and CPR training as soon
as possible after joining, a number of members have completed the Red Cross Emergency Response, Wilderness First Aid,
CPR-AED and other professional level rescuer courses.
The Emergency Response course meets the requirements of the US DOT First Responder training program. The First
Responder is the first level of the Emergency Medical System which consists of:
- First Responder
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Paramedic
- Emergency Hospital Care (ER)
Other training courses are available and are in the planning stages for later this year.
