The trek started with a sail boat race from Long Beach Harbor, Califorina on two boats operated by members of the Arrowhead Squadron, US Power Squadron the charter organization of Ship 194.  Upon arrival on Catalina, the Venturers  established camp ashore and prepared for their trek.  The following days consisted of sea kayaking along the island coast, exploring the inlets, caves and harbors of the island and participating in the Kodiak training events.  Each night the crew camped on the island while their support vessel anchored off shore.

 

The trek finished on the other side of the island where after a BBQ they sailed back to Long Beach.  In October, the Kodiak X portion of the training will occur in the San Bernardino Forest where the final two Kodiak commissions will be presented.
