The Holy Longing by Ronald Rolheiser, OMI.  Required Christian reading, well explained, broad concepts.

The Shattered Lantern by Ronald Rolheiser, OMI.  Required reading for re-capturing the contemplative experience.

The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton.  Literary classic biography of the early Thomas Merton.
 
A Way in the World by Ernest Boyer, Jr.  The awareness of family life as a spiritual discipline.  Hard to find.
 
New Seeds of Contemplation by Thomas Merton.  A classic guide of meditations on the contemplative life.  I have it on my MP3 player.
 
Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster.  In depth look at the various disciplines for a well rounded spiritual life.
 
Prayer by Richard Foster.  Prayer as moving inward, upward and outward.  A great guide to many prayer forms.
 
Noisy Contemplation by William R. Callahan.  Contemplation taken into a noisy world of ourselves, people, society, earth/civilization and God. 
 
Praying the Psalms in the Liturgy of the Hours by Richard Atherton.  Arranged to follow the Office, reflections and explainations of the psalms prayed daily. 
 
Rilke's Book of Hours - Love Poems to God by Rainer Maria Rilke.  Deeply spiritual poems that need to be contemplated for long hours.
 
Anam Cara - A Book of Celtic Wisdom by John O'Donohue.  An exploration of the "earthy" spirituality of the Celts.  Great series of blessings included in the text.
 
Music of Silence by David Steindl-Rast  & Sharon Lebell.  Each of the hours of the Office tied to the meaning of time in our day.  Angelic themed.
 
The Inner Experience by Thomas Merton.  A later Merton transcript published in book from.  An in depth development of contemplation. 
 
Everything Belongs - The Gift of Contemplative Prayer by Richard Rohr, OFM.  Fr. Rohr's contribution to contemplation with great metaphors as only he can plumb. 
 
Passion for Creation - Meister Eckhart's Creation Spirituality by Matthew Fox.  A little pocket book great for long walks in nature.  Via Positiva, Negativa, Creativa, Transformativa.
 
No Man is An Island by Thomas Merton.  Great series of reflections on the religious life. 
 
Merton - A Book of Hours by Kathleen Deignan.  A week of Hours with Merton poems, relfections and writings.  Good for a change of pace in praying the Hours. 
 
The Long Road Turns to Joy - A Guide to Walking Meditation by Thich Nhat Hanh.  You'll never "walk" the same again.  Also a companion DVD & meditation CD.
 
Living with Contradiction by Esther de Waal.  Benedictine spirituality and living with life's contradictions. 
 
The Pocket Thomas Merton.  Another little pocket book with Merton's thoughts on subjects as Real & False Selves, The World and Love in Action.
 
The Little Book of Prayers by David Schiller.  A little book, about an inch thick, chocked full of prayers from Christian, Muslim, Bhuddist, Inuit and other traditions.  A great resource for needed prayers.
