They say pro wrestling is a lot like a soap opera. With the involvement I have had, I can keep the cancelled soaps on the air for the next 10 years. More than likely, this page won't be in any logical order. I think my starting point was like most others in wrestling. After being introduced to wrestling by Dennis Allen, around the age of 10, I was hooked. In the late 1980's, I bounced around several schools in New Jersey in Florida, before childhood friend, Cliff Anderson finally gave me my break. He run very successful shows under the Florida Wrestling Alliance banner. In 1989, my brother, Craig was hired by World Championship Wrestling and travelled around 10 days per month as one of the ring crews. Later the following year, he needed a new partner and I did that for few years. We covered primarily Florida shots, but often travelled to Tennessee and Texas. Those next several years, were the time of my life. It took several tours before the boys opened up and accepted me. The trips were long, but the fun can never be put in words. I began wrestling a short time later. After a handful of matches, my timing and coordination was horrible. I was always told I had a great mind for the business, but as a wrestler, I could never execute it. Dennis suggested, I try tackling a manager role. The rest is history. I made a good name for myself in the 1990' s- 2001 or so working for promotions like The Florida Wrestling Alliance, Future Of Wrestling, Florida Wrestling Federation, Florida State Pro Wrestling Association, and Coastal Championship Wrestling (Melbourne). In 2002, I decided to move to Polk County to get a fresh start after going through a divorce. This is when I began making poor choices in wrestling. I had an offer to book and run a couple promotions, that were not popular among most in the business. I look back now and realize it was a stupid decision on my part. As I look back, I did it to prove, I did have a great mind for wrestling and all crowds more than tripled. Better talent, understanding how to utilize what you have and keeping it simple were the key to success for this area. I came to terms a long time ago, not caring what people think of me, but I am creating this site to show everyone there is so much more to Marcus Wentworth. For the people who want to remember me, remember there was, and is so much history with me and I have had the honor and privilege to work with some amazing talent. Please visit often and give me your feedback |
