2110 cc Aircooled VW

Built by Jim Gillum Racing

 

Crankcase - Type 1 dual relief, deburred, full flowed, clearanced, bored for 94 mm barrels, shuffle pinned, spot faced for case nuts.

Crankshaft - CB Performance 76 mm one piece forged, counterweighted, eight dowel pins.

Rods - Eagle "H" beam, with ARP rod bolts (220,000 PSI) 5.5 inches long.

Pistons & cylinders - Mahle 94 mm with Total Seal rings, Gene Berg wrist pin keepers.

Cam - C B Performance "K-8" 308 degrees duration advertised, 530 thousands lift @ valves, titanium retainers & keepers, straight cut teeth cam gears.

Lifters - C B Performance light weight modified by Jim Gillum Racing.

Push Rods -  Aircooled.net "Super Heavy Duty" aluminum, cut to length.

Oil pump - Gene Berg 30 mm full flow with oil relief cover.

Flywheel - 200 mm light weight (13 lbs.) eight dowel pinned.

Clutch - Kennedy 1700 lb. with Kennedy "Gold" racing disc.

Crankshaft pulley - Doug Fisher damper.

Heads - C B Performance competition eliminators with 46 mm intake valves & 38 mm exhaust valves, 1. 4 to 1 ratio rocker arms, aluminum push rods, big block Chevy dual valve springs. Pocket ported by Jim Gillum Racing.

Carburetors - dual Weber 48 IDF with 40 mm chokes (venturies). Match ported manifolds.

Ignition - MSD 6AL w/two step, MSD distributor, MSD coil and MSD wires.

Exhaust - S & S Headers 1 5/8" thru Jim Gillum Racing designed and built collector and 3 ½" Flowmaster muffler.

Oil filter - System 1, one qt. Size.

Jim Gillum Racing designed and made non-running engine oil cooler system.

Static compression ratio; 9 to 1.

Balanced & blueprinted.

Best elapsed time in the ¼ mile, 12.546 @ 103.87 mph on pump gas. Best 1/8 mile, 7.78 @ 86.26 mph

Weddle main shaft w/3.75 first, 2.08 second, 1.48 third, 1.21 forth.

4.12 ring & pinion w/Weddle aluminum spool.

Type 2 CV joints.
