Engine Type 1

VW Engine, Type 1

My original plan was to use a VW type 4, 2 liter engine, which I have started on, but I'm waiting on some flight tests on others utilizing the rear drive before moving ahead on this one. In the mean time I have picked up a front drive type 1 VW. Well back to plan A, I purchased Steve Jones's 2650cc Type 4 front drive, so guess I now have an extra type 1.

This engine has the Diehl accessory case with bottom mounted starter, mag drive but no mag and at this point is using distributer ignition. It has four CHT and EGT probes with a dual guage and a four way switch. The carb is a Quicksilver with carb heat.
