Everyone at Amazon Animal Hospital shares the same passion for animals and their well being. It takes hardwork and dedication to insure the best care possible for all of our patients. Here we will introduce you to our staff members and their jobs here at the hospital with a brief bio for each.

Juan Carvajal: Practice Manager

Juan started working at Amazon Animal Hospital for his father when he was 16 years old to pay for his new car at the time, after high school he went to the University Of Central Florida in Orlando.
It was one year after college that he decided to work for Dr. Carvajal, he has been working alongside his father ever since.
"There is nothing like waking up every morning and knowing you will learn something new. Working alongside my father, helping our  furry and feathered friends has been an ongoing journey which I will never forget!"
This past November Juan and Jessica Carvajal gave birth to Bella Sky Carvajal, “She is our pride and joy, and she has already grown to love animals as much as we do! Bella is already playing with our Siberian husky ‘Miles Davis’ and our kitty named ‘Comet!’”

Amanda Abbott - VT Veterinary Operations Supervisor

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Amanda has always had a love for animals. She started working with animals by volunteering at a small two doctor practice in Kentucky, and then worked her way up as she gained experience. Eventually Amanda found herself helping the doctors with everything from assisting during surgeries to housecalls. After attending the University of Louisville she moved down to Florida in 1999, and joined the Amazon Animal Hospital team in 2003.
"I love working here, the clients are wonderful! Knowing that a job I love so much makes such a big difference to people makes it very rewarding."
Amanda is married to her husband Marshall, has two daughters, "Athena" who is 3, and "Sammi" who is 1, and also has a female cat named "Princess Boots". Her girls love animals just as much as she does and her eldest daughter Athena already talks about helping animals when she grows up, just like her mom.

Benjamin Holmes - Animal Care Coordinator / Technical Supervisor

Born in England, Benjamin moved to Florida in 1992 after graduating high school. He received a degree in the Recording Arts in 1999 and has spent much of his time writing and producing music for TV and Film. It was in July of 2002 that Benjamin came to work at Amazon Animal Hospital looking for a change in his career and he has never looked back. Incorporating his knowledge of computers with his love for animals, Benjamin tells us that he loves his job. "It's rewarding, being able to help make a difference with our animals health is really important to me."
Benjamin handles the front office and is responsible for our quarterly news letter, and our website design and maintinence.
He and his wife Nicole are the proud parents of 9 animals that go by many names. A 3 year old female Staffordshire Terrier named "Lola" (aka Princess Poot Pants / Officer Poots / Chicken-Pot-Pie) and two 8 year old cats, "Oliver" (aka Stink-boy) and his sister "Marygold" (aka Stinka-Butt), plus 6 Cavies (Guinea Pigs).
