Welcome to our COMPUTER LAB--Please visit with us for awhile.

LAB PURPOSE

For seniors, who through their working years did not use a computer, an opportunity to learn and use the computer. Also for those who have computer experience, but no longer have access to a computer, a chance to use the Lab's computers. To train anyone who wants the experience of using a computer.

LAB EQUIPMENT

There are three PC's using Windows XP or 98 that are all connected to a router and a DSL modem. Likewise there are three Printers: HP 882C, HP932C, and one HP 950C. The Lab is also the proud owner of an HP 4200 Scanner for digitizing pictures amd documents.

INSTRUCTIONS

Instructors are available to guide people in the following areas:

  1. Overall control of the computer.
  2. Rules of the road for using Lab Computers.
  3. Microsoft Works with all its packaged programs.
  4. How to use Juno email.
  5. Yahoo Mail.
  6. Hotmail
  7. The World Wide Web.
  8. Microsoft Publisher.
Some of the computers were given the Lab by residents and others provided to the Claremont Manor Computer Lab by the parent corporation of our community, "Front Porch."
