11th through Nov. 15th 178 Report on Giving Ephesians 6:6-8, “Obey them not only to win their favor
when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God
from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord,
not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for
whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.” $7,352.57 was given in support of all Trinity's
ministries. We thank God for these blessings that He has bestowed on
Trinity. Congregation Council Elections The nominating committee is
accepting applications/nominations for active, confirmed members of Trinity
interested in standing for election to fill four vacant positions on the
Congregation Council. Four nominees will be elected by the congregation at
the annual meeting, Sunday, January 31, 2010. The term for elected council
members is three years. This is an exciting time at Trinity, and I encourage
all interested persons to contact either Pastor Santoro, Pete Brennan, or
myself.—J. S. Otterbacher (766-2246, jotterbacher@mac.com) Ice Skating Outing to Millennium
Park The Youth will be heading to Millennium Park in
Chicago on Saturday, December 12th to Ice Skate and enjoy some Chicago
Pizza. Sign-up down stairs on the youth board. Cost for the
train is $11 Round Trip and Skate rental is $10. If you have your own skates
you can skate for free. Summer 2010 Mission Trip to Pittsburgh, PA The Summer Mission Trip will take place June 26th - July
2nd to Pittsburgh, PA. Youth need to sign-up and turn in their $50
deposit by Sunday, November 22nd. The Mission Trip is open to all
students currently in 6th - 12th grade. Contact Kristin if you have any
questions about what you might experience during this awesome week of
service! Gifts That Give Twice Our family continues a tradition of giving gifts that give
twice. We have come to enjoy Trinity
Lutheran Church’s Gifts of Hope program. Here’s how it works: The gift giving is simple. On several Sundays, November 29 and then
December 6, 13, and 20, buyers can pick a charitable organization from a
catalog compiled by the Social Ministry Committee. Each buyer selects an amount to contribute
to the designated organization.
Finally, the gift buyer names a gift receiver. That person’s name appears as the
contributor to the charitable organization. The Social Ministry Committee and helpers do the rest of
the work. Talented volunteers make a
handsomely scripted card that names the organization, the designated donor,
and the gift giver. That card is
delivered to the giver in the weeks before Christmas. These cards work as excellent stocking
stuffers, mailed gifts, or under-the- tree presents. Organizations locally, nationally, or internationally
benefit from our giving, and we benefit too.
We give family members the joy of knowing that someone in need has
been helped in their name. Try giving
a gift that gives twice. What a way to
celebrate the birth of Christ who has given us the greatest gift of all. Mike Delliquadri, Social Ministry Committee Prayer Ventures November 21st, Give thanks that God raises people to
lend hands and feet, heads and hearts to do God’s work in the world. Ask that
God continue to raise up leaders with wisdom and
faithfulness to lead congregations as outposts of mission to the world. 22nd, O God, in the midst of health, economic,
political and social challenges in the African nations of Burkina Faso, Chad,
Mali, Mauritania, and Niger, we pray that your abounding grace may bring
strength and hope to the people. Prayers of the Parish are
requested for:
Prayers for Friends and
Family in need As
new names are added, names on the bottom of the prayer list may be removed.
Into your
hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy
through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Ministers of Worship 5:30 PM Nov.
