Altitude really dictates the type of vegetation that occurs at Gombe. And there is a wide range of altitude and vegetation. A person can hike for twenty minutes and experience many different habitats, because of the change in altitude.

Linda Ridge- High Grass, Sparse trees
Valley Floors by streams- vegetation: ferns, fungi, vines flowers, etc.
Shoreline- small flowers herbs, grass
