The Colonies Break Free - This unit covers the development and fight for Colonial independence from England.  When we finish this unit, you should understand why the colonists were willing to loose their homes, their wealth, and even their lives to gain AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE.

We will also see how the early mistakes made by this infant nation lead to the development of the Constitution of the United States.  We will learn why the Constitution is considered a "living document," and how our national government is organized.
