The Early Republic - In this unit, we will be learning about how the new nation struggled with challenges from within and from other countries.  We will look at the development of political parties, how the nation expanded in size, and how the nation's economy develops.  Finally, we will learn about the scandals, duels, troubles and sectionalism that the early leaders had to overcome.

Extra Credit Opportunity -- Building A Strong Nation Crossword Puzzle
In the teal box (where all handouts for the last two weeks are located), you will find the directions for a board game.  You may work together with other KORTE students (from any period) to complete this project.  Follow the directions given on the handout and be creative!  An excellent project could earn up to 3 percentage points on your total grade AND a 5 point (½ of a grade) increase on the Unit 3 or Chapter 10 TEST!!!  NO class time will be given for this project, that is why it is EXTRA CREDIT!
