The Nation Expands West - In this unit, we will be learning about the events that lead to the growth of our national boundaries.  We will look at the annexation of the Republic of Texas, the war with Mexico, and the annexation of the Mexican Cession lands which fulfilled our Manifest Destiny.

Extra Credit Opportunity - Muckracker Magazine  In the teal box (where all handouts for the last two weeks are located), you will find the directions for a Muckracker Magazine.  You may work together with other KORTE students (from any period) to complete this project.  Follow the directions given on the handout, and be creative!  An excellent project could earn up to 3 percentage points on your total grade AND a 5 point (½ of a grade) increase on the Unit TEST!!!  NO class time will be given for this project, that is why it is EXTRA CREDIT!
