This is a Regency style day dress that I made for the Costumer's Convention that took place in April 2008 in San Jose.
I made this from the "La Mode Bagatelle" regency pattern set, and it's their wrap front dress. It is made from a cotton
sari that I bought in Little India here in Los Angeles (Little India is actually in the city of Artesia, only a couple of
miles from my house). It is white with a green print on it. I also made a matching Spencer jacket to go with it,
which is made from green velveteen. Click on any image to see a larger version of the photos.
Below is a close up view of the wrap bodice. I had some problems with the Bagatelle pattern as their "wrap"
dress doesn't wrap at all, it actually closes in the back so the front "wrap" is actually a fake. I didn't make it that way
and my dress actually closes down the front of the dress.

Below is the back view of the dress. I love the line of the back of regency dresses for some reason.

This is the green velveteen Spencer jacket that I made to go with this dress. It's in a lovely deep green velveteen.
Again, this was made with the spencer pattern from La Mode Bagatelle's regency pattern collection.

This side shot is good because the lighting actually lets you see the detail. There are little cap sleeves around
the longer sleeves, and you can see the nice curve of the upraised collar. I think the peplum looks better here than
it does in the straight back view. These are such elegant little jackets.
