This is the old scroll, which had 3 text errors

I originally did Ismay's AoA scroll some time ago (see above), maybe sometime in 2007.  However, the heralds bounced it back due to errors in the text.  I debated for some time whether or not to try and fix the errors, or just start over.  I finally decided to start over again as I really didn't like the way the original scroll turned out, especially the longer I looked at it.  I'm much happier with the new scroll, which is based on a folio 152r of the Macclesfield Psalter.  The picture below is the newer version.

This is the new Macclesfield version of the scroll

Below is detail shots of the old scroll.  While I didn't like the overall finished design, I did like the foliage painting.  I thought the lettering on this scroll was too spindly looking for the period, though, and in enlarging the design from the original design (which was about 1/4 the size) I think the foliage just got too large.  I should have kept it smaller than this, which is 14"x18".

Below are detail pictures of the painting along the bottom of the new scroll, showing the white work in more detail.  The original Macclesfield page had rabbits in a religious procession walking across the bottom bar, but I replaced them with two squirrels tossing a nut to each other.  And of course I had to add the arms somewhere, so it got put at the end of the branch.  It looked better at an angle than straight up and down.

The color scheme in the new scroll using red, blue and gold gothic style also works better with the arms, since those were done in the same colors.
