Okay, so I'm a costuming junkie.  That's not exactly the same as being a clothes horse, which I'm definitely not.  When you work in a job where jeans and a T-shirt are the height of chic, you don't need to worry much about what you wear everyday.  But costumes are another matter.  Those I love to make, and wear, whenever I can find the time for either.

This is an introduction to some of my costumes, including my really fabulous bustle dress, plus some of the other historical costumes I've done.  I'm not much into fantasy costumes, and I don't do the Sci-Fi cons, so I just stick with historical costumes.  I do everything from Medieval and Renaissance to Edwardian.

Other than the fact that I'm something of an artist, I'm also an accountant. In fact, I'm an Enrolled Agent since I worked for IRS for several years. I'm better now. I can do your taxes for you, though.

In addition to the stuff you see here, I also collect dolls and make them (or used to make the porcelain ones). I collect sewing machines (see my links for my sewing machine web pages). I'm also "Ms. Fix-it" and do most of my own home improvement work.

This is my Joan of Aragon dress.

This dress is a copy of the one worn by Joan of Aragon in her portrait, attributed to Raphael.  Joan and I look a lot alike, so I had to make a copy of her dress.  The one in the real portrait is red velvet, but I had the plum on hand so that's what it got made of.

This is the painting which inspired the dress above.
