When Color Turns To Grey

By Succubus

It’s when color turns to grey

The sunlight dims and fades away

The food all turns to ashes on my tongue

The soft spots harden into clay

The joys are robbed from everyday

For despite my lover’s arms my love has gone.

Did it leave bit by bit?

Did it break in one wide split?

Or is it only hiding all the while?

These mysteries I cannot know,

While my pain has yet to grow,

As I chew the tasteless remnants of my smile.
