Spain has received numerous awards including
grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities. She is the recipient
of an artist in residence from the Nevada Council for the Arts, a purchase award from the Everhart Museum in Pennsylvania,
and several Art in Public Places awards in the South Lake Tahoe, California area. She has also been commissioned to do murals by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission
from competitive proposals submitted by various California artists for art in public buildings. The Oregon State Council
on the Arts purchased one of her pieces.
Historically Spain has produced work in ceramics,
silk screen prints, etchings, engravings, collographies on handmade paper, and shaped canvas pieces in bold acrylic colors.
Currently she is working with acrylic on large canvases.
Spain
has been featured in over 60 shows in North America, Europe, and Japan, and her works have been selected for the State Department
building in Washington DC and over fifty corporate and private collections, including IBM, Xerox, Penn State University, Standard
Oil, Mobil Oil, University of Notre Dame, UC Davis Medical Center, Valley Bank in Reno as well as other public spaces.

Spain’s studio is in California; she
resides in El Cerrito, California.
