Two separate property owners deeded the land that comprises Big Springs Cemetery.  The east property owner, Aaron Batson and wife, deeded the east section of the cemetery for the sum of $5.00 and the west property owner, John McClain and wife, deeded the west section of the cemetery for the sum of $10.00.  The west section is approximately twice the size of the east section, accounting for the difference in the purchase price.
