The third post office in the township was opened at Six Corners on the Ottawa county side of the boundary between Ottawa and Muskegon counties.  Located at the intersection of Harding Street, 48th Avenue, and the stage coach road, it was founded on February 21, 1855, it operated for thirty-three years until February 4, 1888.
