This is a 1972 Yamaha DT2-MX. It's a 250cc factory-production motocrosser.
Yamaha lists this model on its website as an "Epic Model." The DT2-MX was the first pure motocross bike that
was market-produced by Yamaha.
UPDATE: We've sold this bike...to a Museum! Yup, the MX400
Motocross and Trail Museum in Atlanta has purchased this bike to add to their collection.
This bike has undergone a ground-up complete restoration and looks
like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Some things I couldn't resist, like the custom billet chain guide. The silencer...well...that's
another story.
