On April 29th, the Corvallis Planning Commission voted 4-2 to approve Palisch Homes' proposal to turn 40 acres of threatened oak savannah into 221 houses worth of sprawling suburbs.  On May 21st, the Corvallis City Council will decide whether or not to overrule the decision - here's what you can do to make sure the city does the right thing.

1) If you live in Corvallis, attend the May 21st public hearing on the development proposal.  You don't have to be an expert - just express your desire that Witham Oaks remain protected.  Alternatively, you can sumbmit written testimony by emailing Associate Planner Eric Adams, at eric.adams@ci.corvallis.or.us  Be sure to submit comments before May 21st.

2) Whether or not you are a Corvallis resident, you can email the mayor and city council, urging them to protect Witham Oaks and discourage urban sprawl.  Below is a list of their email addreses, ready to be copied and pasted into the addres bar of an email message.  Just address your email, "Dear Corvallis Mayor and City Council," explain why you are against the development project, and you're good to go.
