History

Flashfire is the product of an unlikely union: the marriage between the dreaded Lord Pyre, the supervillain ruler of a South American country, and the Freedom Phalanx heroine Wavelength. Sometime in the 1970s, the despotic Lord Pyre captured Wavelength during a battle with the Freedom Phalanx. He held her hostage for many days, but "Wavelength's idealism and relentlessness slowly won over Lord Pyre's grudging respect - and, later, his love. Lord Pyre soon gave up all plans of world domination and instead turned his vast intellect towards bettering the conditions for his own people. Eventually, Lord Pyre and Wavelength married - and both were overjoyed when Wavelength gave birth to their son, dubbed Prince Flashfire. It's clear that Flashfire has inherited at least some portion of his father's powers, and it is assumed that his mother's superspeed will emerge over time. Currently, however, "Flashfire's powers are entirely offensive in nature. He can destroy just about anything that stands in front of him. Yet he's unable to protect himself with the flames. Both his parents suggest that this is a good reminder that no one can stand by himself for long."

"Flashfire is an exuberant hero. He's living a life which most can't even imagine - he's born to royalty and yet also has powers far beyond imagination. Despite his impetuous nature, Flashfire also realizes that thoughtfulness is the key to true heroism. He struggles to maintain his father's rigid expectations and his mother's high hopes."

It's assumed that Flashfire helped defend his homeland in South America from the Rikti Invasion. He's motives for relocating to Paragon City remain unknown.

Flashfire was introduced through the blaster archetype walk-through on the official site. It's unclear whether he will be an actual NPC in the final game.

Flashfire's super speed abilities are not part of the original character creation, which is reflective of a "rookie hero."
