The Dark Watcher was a mysterious superhero who appeared in Paragon City sometime in the 1930s to fight injustice alongside the Statesman and other heroes of the Freedom Phalanx.

History

 

The second known superhero in Paragon City, the Dark Watcher first emerged soon after the Statesman, presumably sometime in early 1931 (the Freedom Phalanx was formed in the spring if '31). It has been suggested that he was a founding member of the Freedom Phalanx, although this has yet to be confirmed. His fate remains unknown, but if he was a member of the Freedom Phalanx, it's likely that he joined the group in defending Paragon City from a devastating Axis attack on December 7th, 1941; and later traveled to Europe to aid England's Dawn Patrol. It is not known if he survived World War II, but it is assumed that he is currently dead or inactive.

 

Given the Dark Watcher's mysterious nature, it's plausible that he could have survived into the 21st Century, but his name has not been mentioned in any sources covering the post-WWII eras.
