The Banished Pantheon is a villain group that seemingly consists of actual deities, demons, and/or gods. They have only recently appeared in Paragon City; how and why they have arrived here is still unknown.

BANISHED PANTHEON

Roster

At present, very few "named" members of the Banished Pantheon have been identified.

  • Lughebu (Leader)
  • Adamastor

Army

Scholars and heroes have divided the banished pantheons forces into three categories: Soldiers, Shamans, and Masks.

Soldiers

Banished Pantheon soldiers consist of reanaimated corpses. They are typically slow-moving but can be armed with both melee weapons (including tomahawks and clubs) and ranged weapons (typically outdated rifles). All Soldiers are considered "minions."

  • Chambers (Dessicated, Dry, and Rotting varieties)
  • Husks (Dessicated, Dry, and Rotting varieties)

Shamans

The Banished Pantheon shamans are incredibly powerful magic users who have mastered various elemental forces. While the can attack with melee weapons, their most potent abilities are powers that temporarily incapacitate foes. Most Shamans are considered "Lieutenants" in the Banished Pantheon army.

  • Avalanche Shaman
  • Death Shaman
  • Storm Shaman

Masks

The most powerful members of the Banished Pantheon, Masks appear as either floating Tiki faces or as giant, walking totems. Incredibly versatile, Masks use a wide range of powers that can stun, disorient, or induce sleep. Nearly all Masks are considered Bosses.

  • Spirit of Death
  • Spirit of Desire
  • Spirit of Pain
  • Spirit of Sorrow
  • Totem

Villain Finder

·Dark Astoria is the most fertile hunting ground for Banished Pantheon. Soldiers and Shamans can be found in the streets throughout the mist-filled zone, and all varieties appear in ample numbers in the cemetery.

Tactics

·At first glance, the Banished Pantheon seems to be one of the least-intelligent and organized villain groups in Paragon City, relying on numbers rather than strategy to overwhelm heroes. This is certainly true of the Husks and Chambers, who will charge mindlessly at opponents and clump in groups just waiting for a Blasters area attack. Even Shamans need to enter the fray to use their powers effectively, and Totems are almost pure melee monsters that wade into battle without hesitation. However, a diverse group of Banished Pantheon can be devastating, as the Shamans and Masks combine forces to neutralize heroes so their shambling soldiers can move in for the kill.

Combat Recommendations

·Against mixed groups, attack the Avalanche Shamans first, followed by others Shamans. Although the Masks might seem more potent and have more hit points, the Avalanche Shamans can render an entire group helpless with continual use of Tremor, Earthquake, and Stone Prison. Once the Shamans are defeated, focus on any remaining Bosses (the Masks) and finally mop up the Soldiers. Blasters and Defenders should be aware of where Soldiers are at all times: they have devastating melee attacks but are slow and easily avoided.

Rewards

·Defeating 100 Banished Pantheon provides the “Banisher” badge.

History

The complete history of the Banished Pantheon remains unknown. However, it seems the group is led by Lughebu, a dark god who has attracted other evil entities to his cause. It’s likely that Lughebu has been battling humanity for eons, but he has only recently secured a major foothold in Paragon City. After the Rikti invasion, while the Heroes and authorities were focused on rebuilding the city, the “trickster god of the Banished Pantheon stumbled upon something:  Beneath the sod and graves of [Dark Astoria’s] Moth Cemetery lay an ancient god, far older than those of the Pantheon, and far more powerful. Wishing to use this power to release him and his fellow gods, he ordered his followers to invade the area and seize control of it.

“The city authorities and Heroes, already reduced in number and staggering from the Rikti onslaught, had no choice but to relinquish the area to the Pantheon and wall it off. Within the walls, the army of Husks and Shamans ravaged the zone, tore the ground apart and sacrificed every man, woman, and child in their efforts to wake the god Mot, but all their efforts were in vain. To this day, Lughebu’s soldiers search for a way to wake the sleeper, while the spirits of those who once lived there wander about, unable to sleep…”

Perhaps strengthened by their stronghold in Dark Astoria, the Banished Pantheon has now spread out into Talos Island. They sometimes appear in other areas of the city as well, fulfilling dark plots and evil missions for Lughebu.

It’s assumed that Lughebu and the “trickster god” are one and the same.
