Coconut Oil toothpaste.  This one's very easy and inexpensive.  Just keep it in a jar, take ot a small amount with your finger, and apply to toothbrush.  My hygienist tells me that my teeth have had almost no buildup in the year that I have been using this recipe.  Tea tree oil has an amazing effect on the tissues of the mouth, and coconut oil is such a pleasant base to put it in.  Coconut oil also has germicidal properties- making  this the best of all worlds.  My hygiienist thinks that the oil makes it hard for things to stick to the teeth.  All I know is that it has improved my overall dental health.
 
Mix 1/4 cup of coconut oil with a full bottle (7 ml) of Thursday Plantation Mouth Drops.  These drops have natural extracts of tea tree, cassia, menthol, peppermint and sweet oil of fennel- and a little honey.  Very pleasant.

Teeth Whitening
 
1 part vegetable glycerin
1 part vinegar
1 part hydrogen peroxide
 
Combine in small jar with a lid.  Apply with q-tip each morning.  This tastes great and leaves the surface of your teeth feeling shiny!  You can see the fizzing action clean away all the dirt and germs.  On my first dental check-up on February 14th, my dental hygienist commented on the incredible improvement.  The cleaning was a breeze!  Am so much happier using the combination of coconut oil toothpaste and this whitening treatment- and so are my teeth!  I'll never go back to regular toothpaste again.

Here's a morning drink recipe:
 
12 oz boiling water
green tea bag
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 teaspoons lemon-flavored cod liver oil
juice of one lemon
 
Steep tea for five minutes.  Add remaining ingredients. Stir. Enjoy.
 
Idea for hot lemon drink in the morning came from Beverly Sassoon's "A Year of Beauty and Health". I've been using this book since 1978 whenever I want to take care of myself- so it's a little more than a year for me.  I love the suggestions like 7-way stretch and vinegar in the bath.  Makes you feel like you are giving yourself the celebrity treatment.
 
The cod liver oil has helped me more than you can possibly know.  I started using it to improve my eye health- but the effects on my mood were tremendous.  One teaspoon was all that I needed to get off my Paxil for panic attacks.  But when I added the second teaspoon- no more social anxiety!!  Something that had crippled me my whole life and was not even dented by psychiatric treatment was totally gone.  And in some ways, this is better than Paxil, because I can forget it a day or two with no side effects!  Don't know if this is just something that applies to me- but I am glad that I discovered this solution.  When added to the tea, the cod liver oil helps the acidity.  At the moment, I can't take this drink because of the GERD from my hiatal hernia- but still take the cod liver oil and will never stop because I love my new life! 
Now just need to find a supplement that will enable me to clean house!!  (Think that this problem will be remedied after my sleep study on 3/8/07- after the followup on 3/15 and the treatment starts- look forward to getting a complete nights sleep for the first time in many years.  According to my doctor, this will help restore my energy and help me lose weight.  The theory behind that is that when you don't get a full night's sleep you eat to try and get more energy.  Can't wait to see what happens!  Keep you posted!!
