So Very Busy
A coworker and friend of mine told me once that "everyone is, or at least thinks they are, as busy as can be" or words to that effect. The point being that no matter what you're level of activity you consider yourself to be fully utilized and engaged.
We were talking about single mothers who work and take care of a family. How much effort that takes. Since my friend is a single mother with a family I expected her to agree. But she told me "everyone is busy...as can be."
There's a comedian that has a funny routine about laying on the couch at home and not having time to get up and take care of minor things (like giving a letter to his next door neighbor that was accidentally delivered to his house).
So it's like that I guess...if you are laying on the couch or taking care of three little kids and working outside the home as well...you are as busy as can be.
In any event, at work these days, I definitely feel as busy as can be. We have downsized and right sized and created processes that cause things that used to be efficient or at least quick; inefficient and slow or maybe I'm just getting older and crankier and slower myself.
Nothing to worry about...it will all work out. That's the nice thing about having faith in God. You can put things in God's hands and have faith that things will work out.

Today is St Patrick's Day. I feel very thankful for an extended set of family and friends who share some wonderful Irish traits; joy, love of stories, laughter and the enjoyment of spirit (either holy or the drinking variety).
I partook in a lot of drinking over the years. I had a fair number of drinking buddies. Now I enjoy not drinking...but man every so often I would love to tie one on. That won't work for me anymore. What's that they say, "one's too many and too many is not enough?" I saw a PBS show on addiction that made sense to me. One of the theories is that people that become addicted to alcohol have a body/brain chemistry that causes alcohol to make them feel really good. I know that feeling, as well as the really bad. We all struggle with some addictions in some degree, or form. Some of the best people I know are very addiction prone. It can all work out...if you find yourself overdoing something that isn't working, try to get addicted to something good for you (blogging, golf, fishing, knitting). I know this is simpler said than done, but with the right support and mindset anything is possible.
May You Find Inner Peace
and
Be Truly Good to Yourself
We are all in this together, Let's enjoy the ride.
