Exerpts from Letter to Coaches/Contacts

SCHEDULE CHANGE NOTICES

As a team contact, anytime that we have to change the schedule, be it a field or a date/time change, theArbiter will automatically generate an email message to you with the change in the schedule.
ODSL Coaches: ODSL schedule changes are official when the ODSL Administrator sends us an email. We will not change any schedules until ODSL informs us.
SFL Coaches: SFL schedule changes must be made in concert with the SFL, even PWSI vs. PWSI games. If notified by the SFL club rep, we will be able to notify SFL of schedule changes.
PWSI U12 and below rec Coaches: Schedule changes can only be made by your league director. PWSI policy on schedule changes is that they must be done a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Non-weather related cancellations or changes on the day-of-game will not be honored and the scheduled referees will be paid. If the teams reschedule PWSI is not obligated to provide referees for a make up match that was cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.

RAINOUTS

On days that the PW Park Authority closes fields due to inclement weather or saturated conditions, the first action we will take is to change the status of a match from Normal to Rainout. That will generate an email to you. Later, when we receive notice of the makeup time, we will change the status from Rainout to Normal including the new date/time and location. For U12 and below we will follow the scheduling matrix (usually eight days and three hours) for rescheduling. For ODSL we will wait for notice from the ODSL Administrator.
Note: Receiving an email from us that a game's status has been changed to Rainout does not excuse you of your obligation to contact the opposing team as may be required by your league rules.

REFEREE COVERAGE

In the spring we covered 98% of the positions including 100% of the ODSL games. We hope the days of wondering whether referees will show up are behind us. Still, we understand that coaches and team managers want to know. You can have the ability to check any of your games to see whether referees have been assigned.

FREE ACCESS TO THEARBITER

You can have FREE access to theAriter.net which will allow you to check your schedule and the referees assigned (number only, no names).

Sign up Form for theArbiter

Note: We will NOT take phone calls and look up information for you. Nor can we accept requests for specific referees (or block specific referees).

MYTHS OF THE GAME

On our referee site (www.pwsra.org) is a link to "Myths of the Game." Besides interesting reading, we have a standing offer to come to any PWSI team meeting and show this USSF 20-minute video to your team including parents. Everyone, including the referee that shows the video and leads the Q&A, will be smarter for it.

REFEREE OBSERVATIONS

You observation about our referees is important and we have provided a link on our website (www.pwsra.org -- Coaches) to accomplish this. Not for SFL Coaches. See SFL Game Reporting below.

SFL GAME REPORTING

SFL Coaches: We have built an SFL Game Report module into our website. This report form is APPROVED FOR USE BY THE SFL. In addition to threading the information to the correct people (sflsoccer, PWSI SFL Club Rep) it also provides you with the opportunity to observe our referees. If you use this form you do not need to send a separate email to SFL. This can also be used to away games.
