Chessboard Sudoku

Chessboard Sudoku (棋盤式數魔或字帖式數魔), is one of the Dieluohan Sudoku (疊羅漢數魔之一員), because the center 3X3 block is superimposed by four layers of 9X9 Sudoku (因為這四個圈是由四個單獨數魔像疊羅漢一般重疊起來的,在中間的小九宮有四層的重疊), is a collection of 15X15 super four-ring 9X9 Sudoku puzzles published in this Sudoku Club. The name is reflected in that each puzzle looks like a square chessboard. Since it is a good size to write Chinese character, so it was also named Chinese Calligraphic Sudoku.

About Dieluohan Sudoku

Dieluohan (疊羅漢, pronounced Die-Lo-Han), in Chinese, is a show of acrobatics with many people forming a multi-layered human body pattern. A Sudoku can also be formed using a similar superimposed Dieluohan pattern if given enough numbers of Sudoku to play.

Dieluohan Sudoku has two types, namely symmetrical and asymmetrical.

In symmetrical Dieluohan Sudoku, all members of the composing Sudoku should be from a single type (e.g. Web Sudoku type). If they are not, it is called asymmetrical Dieluohan Sudoku.

Besides, Dieluohan Sudoku is classified to have many different layers. In general, Dieluohan Sudoku with symmetrical or with higher number of layer are more difficulty to construct.

All 5-member rings Super Web Sudoku puzzles published in this Club belongs to the symmetrical Dieluohan Sudoku family. The centered Sudoku is superimposed with four other Sudokus, which form a two layered Sudoku ring. These are three layered Dieluohan Sudoku, as shown in the diagram below. Each color represents a same layer.

疊羅漢數魔有對稱的和不對稱的.對稱的疊羅漢數魔是所有的組成成員數魔都必須是同樣的一型(比如都是網形數魔).不對稱的就可以由各種型態的數魔來組合.各有難有易.一般來說對稱的疊羅漢數魔比較不容易設計. 除了這個之外, 疊羅漢數魔還有不同的層數之分. 設計一個愈多層數的疊羅漢數魔則愈加困難.

本網站上所刊登的五連環數魔圈迷題都是對稱的疊羅漢數魔,因為它經由三個層次的同型數魔重疊而成.即位於中心的數魔是壓在其它四個兩層數魔圈的頂上,如下圖所示. 每一個顏色代表一個層次.

叠罗汉数魔有对称的和不对称的.对称的叠罗汉数魔是所有的组成成员数魔都必须是同样的一型(比如都是网形数魔).不对称的就可以由各种型态的数魔来组合.各有难有易.一般来说对称的叠罗汉数魔比较不容易设计. 除了这个之外, 叠罗汉数魔还有不同的层数之分. 设计一个愈多层数的叠罗汉数魔则愈加困难.

本网站上所刊登的五连环数魔圈迷题都是对称的叠罗汉数魔,因为它经由三个层次的同型数魔重叠而成.即位于中心的数魔是压在其它四个两层数魔圈的顶上,如下图所示. 每一个颜色代表一个层次.

Five layered Dieluohan Sudoku, e.g. adding another 9X9 Sudoku superimposed on top of the center of a Chessboard Sudoku (shown in the diagram below), is even more difficult to build. It could be done much more easily with the symmetrical traditional Sudokus or asymmetrical Sudokus. With more restricted Web Sudoku, Rainbow Sudoku, or even Rainbow Web Sudoku, it can not be done easily.

如果能設計出五層對稱的疊羅漢數魔圈, 比如在15X15棋盤式數魔圈正中間再加上一個重疊同型的數魔,如下圖,那更是難上加難了.目前恐怕只有利用傳統的數魔,或不對稱數魔所組成的數魔圈才能達到這個目的.網形數魔,彩虹數魔,甚至彩虹網數魔因為所受的限制太多,目前對於這個突破還是處於難產的階段.

		This Super Web Sudoku has a missing link. One of the diagonal lines is missing(網開一面). I hope someone will find the link some day. This Super Web Sudoku contains three 9X9 web Sudokus and a Semi 9X9 Web Sudoku (with one diagonal line) to form a very compact 15X15 configuration. Each 9X9 Sudoku is linked with the other three either by a 3X3 corner or by a 3X9 edge. This puzzle shows a Chinese character "Dragon" (龍,龙).
