Plum Sudoku and its rules 梅花樁數魔

plum-20061023.gif

Introducing a new Sudoku which I named "Plum Sudoku" (梅花樁數魔). This Sudoku replace the individual 3X3 block numbering limitation of a classical Sudoku with a new rule, that at the same position in all 3X3 blocks the numbers should not be repeated. In other words, that Plum Sudoku has one less numbering restriction than Rainbow Sudoku. The 3X3 block numbering limitation has been eliminated. Plum Sudoku release the space constrain of nine numbers in every 3X3 block. "We are free at last!"

介紹一個新數魔梅花樁數魔“Plum Sudoku"
一,每一行九個數各不相同.
二,每一列九個數各不相同.
三,每一個九宮上同位置的九個數各不相同.

這是彩虹數魔的自然產物,但卻是能震撼魔數方塊的一個最重要基石.詳情請期待.

Plum flower stepping stone technique  梅花樁功夫
A branch of Chinese Kong Fu ("Kong Fu", 功夫, actually means exercise, study, or practice, not as current English translation to be "Martial art".  Martial art should be using "Wu Gong",武功 or "Wu Shu",武術) is named "Plum flower stepping stone technique" (梅花樁, pronounced "Mei Hua Zhuang") uses high raised stepping stones arranged to a pattern like plum flower petals for practice. A well know lion dance performed in China usually uses the same technique by climbing high raised stepping logs to get the reward from a store owner. This new Sudoku present a similar character in that all its’ associated numbers are arranged in ordered pattern but not so closed together like a standard Sudoku. In short, I named it the Plum Sudoku.

Thursday, February 7th was the beginning of the Chinese New Year when there is a new moon. This year is the year of the rat (鼠,Su). Chinese custom of celebration of the New Year ends at 15th when moon becomes full moon again. The Chinese characters 祝新年快乐吉祥如意 (Zhu Xin Nian Kuai Le Ji Xiang Ru Yi) means Wish you Happy New Year, Good Luck, and All Dream Come True.
