April 2006

Wow! Could I ever imagine, 10 years ago in my beautiful post-Soviet Union, hunting for some milk for my child, that I’ll have the exhibition in The Regency Club one day?! Details

Thanks to Sophia’s Art gallery from Beverly Hills Details for that chance to show my last paintings.

Venezia. OK, it is not the Italy, you’ll see why, but it’s so pretty that during my last trip to it in April it had a very deep impact in my palette. Results of this event you’ll see in June at my personal show. The Venice, another look. The Venice –the mystery city. See show

April, 2002.

I had three shows in three cities in Japan. They were Hiroshima, Hirosaki and Sapporo.

Hiroshima. It is a beautiful and modern city today and full of warm-hearted people and monuments.

The Atomic Bomb Memorial will make your heart heavy and sad.

Climate is more dry here and local food is famous for it’s oysters and okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) .

Whenever I have time I open my sketch box to paint the beauty around me.

Hanami, or Time to enjoy cherry blossoms is very unique tradition in Japan.

Any vacant space beneath the Sakura trees was well organized by families celebrating such a beautiful short days of blossoms. Hirosaki Castle is famous trhu all over Japan for it’s Sakura.

Hirosaki Castle.

One of the Sapporo’s Sinto Shrines.

It is almost impossible to find anything ancient in Sapporo. It is a new beautiful city with perfect infrastructure and it has its own face. Potato, milk products and huge crabs are delicious! Many parks in the city and resorts in outskirts make Sapporo one of the best places for living. If not Kanji I would easily move to Sapporo!
