2009 Rules and Regulations
I Changes / Amendments to Rules and Regulations
1.
All rules and regulations will be voted on and amended during the December meeting by the current
members of the Robinson Bass Club.
II Sportsmanship
1. Good sportsmanship, and Texas State / Federal Laws will govern all matters concerning rules and regulations. Be courteous
to others on the water and treat them with the respect that you would want to be treated with.
III Membership
1. Dues are $35.00 per calendar year. Half must be paid
prior to fishing the January Tournament, with the remaining balance due by the close of the February Club meeting. Members
joining from Jan. 1st through June 30th will pay the full annual membership due of $35.00. Members joining from
July 1st through Dec. 31st can pay $17.50 to join the Club for the remaining part of the year.
2. You must
be an official member of the Robinson Bass Club for three consecutive months to be eligible for free entry fees paid by the
Club. (i.e. Road Trips).
3. Members may have individuals that are not current
members of the Robinson Bass Club fish as a guest with them. Once someone
has fished 1 tournament as a guest they can not fish any other Tournaments as guest. Members may have more than 1 guest a
year fish.
4. All persons
in a member’s boat during tournament hours must be a paid guest or a member of the Robinson Bass Club, with the exception of immediate family members. No guides are allowed
during tournament hours.
4. Each additional family member that will be fishing
in tournaments for prizes and credits will have annual dues of $35.00 per person. Family members for a social function is
automatic with the first full paid membership.
5. Persons wanting to join the Robinson Bass Club who
have been released, kicked out, or are questionable in standings of other clubs, will have their name brought before members
of the Robinson Bass Club to be voted on for membership into the Robinson Bass Club.
6. Any person wanting to join the Robinson Bass Club
at a time other than at a normal Club meeting, must pay the memberships dues as stated earlier, prior to the 6:00 cutoff time
on Friday preceding the tournament. If there is a problem regarding this person’s
standing with other clubs, it will be brought up at the next regular monthly Club meeting and voted on for acceptance into
the Robinson Bass Club. If for some reason this person is not accepted for membership into the Robinson Bass Club there membership
dues paid will be refunded.
7.
All officers of the Robinson Bass Club will have free membership and will have each regular monthly
tournament fee waived for each tournament within the year in which they serve as officers of the Robinson Bass Club.
8. All paid members will receive a Robinson
Bass Club hat yearly.
IV Meetings and Tournaments
1. The Club meeting will be
held the first Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. In the event the first Monday is
a holiday, then the meeting will be held on the Tuesday following the holiday.
2.
Anyone becoming unruly or creating a disturbance during a Club meeting, as determined by the
Club
president; will be asked to leave.
3.
Tournaments will be held on the weekend following the regular monthly meeting.
Participants
may
elect to fish either Saturday or Sunday.
5. If after the designated lake for the tournament has
been deemed unfishable for any reason the next
runner up lake will become the designated lake to fish. It will be the responsibility of the officers
to
notify all club members of the change ASAP.
6.
All participants
must designate their day to fish prior to fishing the tournament. Tournament fees must be paid Friday by 6:00 P.M., prior
to the scheduled tournament, to a club officer or a previously designated site or person. NO entry fees will be accepted at the boat RAMP.
A. No changes may be made in designation of the fishing day or entry after
8:00 P.M. on Friday before the tournament. A participant may contact a Club officer until 8:00 P.M. Friday preceding the tournament,
and change their elected day to fish. After the money for that tournament has been paid it will be for that tournament only.
B. Once a tournament date and location (i.e. Lake
and Ramp) have been set, it may be changed due to weather or by a vote of the majority of the members present at a meeting
prior to the scheduled tournament.
7. Night tournaments and road trip tournaments may be
held if the majority of the members present at the regular club-meeting vote to do this.
8. All fish to be weighed in for a tournament must be
transported to the weigh-in scales in a weigh-in bag with water. NO FISH TRANSPORTED
OTHERWISE WILL BE WEIGHED.
9.
A definite starting
time and weigh-in site must be set by a Club vote at each regular monthly meeting. Waco
radio station Waco 100 (FM), will serve as the official time of the Robinson Bass Club to determine start time and stop time. It will be the responsibility of the weigh
master to call time.
10. Tournament participants shall check-in with the weighmaster prior to
time being called by the weighmaster. It is the responsibility of the participant
to make sure the weighmaster knows they have checked in. Participants will be
responsible for weighing in their own fish. The only exception to this will be due
to emergency circumstances at the discretion of the weighmaster.
11. Weigh masters will be appointed
at the regular monthly meeting by the president or another
Club
officer in the event of the president’s absence. Weighmasters will be appointed for both
Saturday and Sunday at the regular monthly meeting.
12. Selection of the weigh in site/ramp will be determined at the regular
monthly meeting. Once the weigh in site/ramp has been selected each year for the lake in question, that site/ramp will be
used as the weigh in location for all tournaments fished on that lake for that calendar year. Trailoring is permitted.
V Waters to be Fished
1. Any lake within 100 miles of Robinson may be fished.
No lake can be fished more than 4 times per
calendar
year. No lakes will be fished back to back.
2. Lakes will be selected by a majority vote of the current
members of Robinson Bass Club who are present at each monthly meeting. Lakes
will be selected one month ahead of time to allow for prefishing. The selected
lake becomes off limits the Monday prior to the regular tournament, except during a road trip, then road trip rules apply.
3. No more than 2 road trips per year can be elected. Road trips are more than 100 miles from Robinson.
4. Road trips must be voted on at least 1 month prior
to taking, by the majority of the club members present at the regular monthly meeting.
Road trips will allow a choice of fishing either Saturday or Sunday and allow practice fishing the day before chosen
tournament day only.
5. Only open public waters will be fished. Stock tanks and private lakes are not considered public open waters.
6. No members may fish, or boat in State Posted or any
restricted waters. This can be posted or non-posted waters. Any questions concerning
areas that can not be fished should be brought up in the regular monthly meeting prior to the tournament.
VI Legal Fish and Methods of Taking Fish
1. Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted Bass are the only
legal fish that can be weighed in.
2. A penalty of 0.25 pounds will be deducted for each
dead fish weighed. It is the responsibility of
the weigh-master to make note of the penalty on the weigh sheet.
3. The
official minimum length limit for bass will be 14 inches unless the state or lake limit is more than 14 inches; in which case,
the state or lake limit will prevail. Teams presenting Bass for weigh-in which
fail to measure the prescribed length limit will have their catch for that day disqualified.
Teams will have the opportunity to measure their fish on one of the Club measuring boards before the club weigh-master
officially measures and weighs their catch.
4. Each team may weigh a total of five fish with a minimum
of 14 inches in length, unless State or Lake limits are greater. Fish will be measured on
the club provided measuring board with their mouth closed and their tails compressed.
5. All fish must be caught in a legal sporting manner.
Intentional snagging of fish will not be allowed. No trolling with gasoline driven motor is permitted. Only artificial lures
may be used. No live bait or prepared bait is permitted. Only artificial lures maybe used, with the exception of pork rinds.
Liquid fish attractants are allowed.
4. Fishing is permitted from boats only. NO float tubes will
be permitted.
VII Registration: Team Format
1. Teams may consist of an individual or two-person team.
2. Once a Team has fished together, then that Team is
established for the year to qualify for
Team Championship. A team member can fish alone
in the situation that their partner can not make it, and they can carry their weight for the team. If a Team member fishes
with another
individual during the year then they establish a new team and their weight can not be carried to a
pre-existing team.
3.
At a minimum, the smallest fish weighed in each Teams creel should be measured.
VIII Prizes
1. Teams can only win one prize for either First, Second, or Third.
2. A cash prize will be awarded each month for the First place Big bass
and the Second place Big bass. Teams can only win 1 Big bass place in each tournament.
IX Entry Fee and Payout
1. Tournament fee will be “TOTAL
GROSS RECEIPTS FROM TOURNAMENT FEES”, of which $5.00 per team will be
for the big bass pot also $2.00 per person will be put into the general club treasury.
A. The payout for heavy bag will be as follows:
100% of the GROSS RECEIPTS FROM TOURNAMENT FEES paid per team minus $5.00 per team for Big bass pot and minus $2.00 per person to
go to the general club treasury .
First Place 50%
Second Place 30% Third Place 20%
B. The payout for Big bass will be as follows:
100% of the $5.00 of the total entry fees paid per team
First Place 60% Second Place 40%
2. If no fish are caught or if second or third place can not be determined
due to bag weight, then all respective prize moneys in question will carry over to the next month’s tournament payout.
The exception to this would be a sponsored tournament, then prizes will be retained and their distribution will be decided
on by a majority vote of members present at the next regular monthly Club meeting. Ties will be divided equally between the
one or two places in question.
3. A Championship trophy will be awarded each year for each of the following
Categories:
Jackets- Awarded to First, Second and Third place teams
Plaques-
A. Sportsman
of the Year
B. Largest Bass Weighed
C. Any junior competing in 9 or more Tournaments
(must be 16 or younger
when joining)
X Protest / Polygraphs
1. Any protest concerning fish weighed in at the tournament must be made at the weigh-in, and in writing within 30 minutes of the close of the weigh-in. Protest will be brought
up at the following regular monthly Club meeting and decided on by a majority vote of the members present at the meeting.
2. All members may be subject to a polygraph (lie detector) test upon request
of the Club officers and members of the Robinson Bass Club as deemed necessary.
XI Side / Big Bass pots
1.
The Robinson
Bass Club has a 7 lbs. or over big bass pot, this side pot is not mandatory for members of the Robinson Bass Club. The 7 lbs.
or over big bass pot has an entry fee of $2.00 per tournament for those wishing to participate. The entry fees collected are
awarded for the Biggest bass caught in a tournament weighing 7lb or over by a member that is participating
in this pot and is current in the entry fee for this pot (THIS
INCLUDES ALL BACK ENTRY FEES). IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENT AT THE TIME OF THE TOURNAMENT
YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN, NO EXCEPTIONS. The pot will continue to carry until it is won. Once the pot has reached $500, for a new member to participate
in this pot, they will have to pay all back entry fees to the point of where the pot was last won and be a club member for
at least six months. Once
the Big Bass side pot has been won, ALL MEMEBER (regardless of how long they’ve been a member) are eligible for the
New Big Bass side pot. If big bass is dead, .25 pounds will be deducted
from the weight of that fish. Only if big bass minus the .25 pound penalty is
still over 7 pounds will the fish qualify to win the pot.
XII Officers and Committees
1. Officers will be elected at the last regular monthly meeting of the
year (December).
Officers to be elected are as
follows:

2. All committees will be appointed by the president of the club, from
members in the club.
