Poem for David
David, do you remember long ago, How we danced around
in circles? Stolen kisses in the night, Like forbidden cultured pearls?
Never did we come right out, Nor
say what we ever meant. How many wasted moments, Have we now spent in regret?
The years have passed, twenty
or more, My heart for you has ever been sore, I wish I had pursued the rightful cause, Instead I stopped, and
then I paused.
What made me choose to not pursue, And if I did what would you do? So now I sit in vain regret,
Alone, and lonely, I'll admit.
If time could turn back in its course, I swear I'd take that chance, And
never once admit remorse, In the sweetness of our romance.

Happy Imbolc
Just briefly stopping by to check in. All is well. The Wheel is turning and the sabbat of Imbolc has just
passed. I have been reticent in keep up this and my main site and I promise to do better. A couple links are done
and I am linking to other sites elsewhere for the BoS, FAQ, and History, until I can get my own versions up elsewhere on the
web. Blessings to all as we move towards the light...

Blessings of the Season to You
I have been remiss in adding to my blog here. I have been around. Participated in some very cool Yule rituals
performed in my local area. Meaningful and exciting as well. Some people don't take too well to Witches and Pagans
residing in Virginia. Even in slightly more progressive northern end of state, aka Northern Virginia...there are people
who are hostile. But despite some veiled threats, Yule went as planned, in the circle in the north end of Occoquan.
There were as many as 30 people present, calling upon their patron dieties, spirit guides, totem animals, and deceased loved
ones to attend the rites of Yule. The spirits of the town were called as well. It was an awesome ritual, with
a battle between the Oak and Holly Kings. You will be glad to know that Oak prevailed. :-)
Well, that is it for this evening. Blessings to you.

Yuletide Greetings
Locked in a season of darkness and frost, light prevails at winter's loss. Soon Yule will be upon us...the three
months of ice and snow. But in the midst of that, the days will be beginning growing longer, promising the return of
warmer days. Hard to believe in just two short months, crocuses will be bursting through the snow and in three months
we will seen daffodils again.
But now, we are in the midst of the winter season, and it too has its charms. The darkness invites reflection and
study, ghosts and spirits are more prevalent at this time of year, and the warmth of the fire beckons us with its eternal
beauty and light.
The joys of the season are that despite the external world locked in snow, the warmth of love, what with its glow, will
provide all we need until the sun returns again.
May the joys of this season be with you. May you find your inner light within the darkness, and may you share that
light with those in need.
Blessings,
Salem

My, A Month Already!
Well Witchlings and Dear Readers,
I've been rather busy in the "real" world with work, family, home, etc. You know, all the things that pull you
away from Witchly studies. However, I have managed in the past few weeks to perform the Mabon Ritual and one of two
full moon rituals. I still have to perform an Esbat for the most recent full moon. I am so, so far behind.
Life has been fine...I've been to the Ren Fest in Maryland, acquired a few more Ouijas, and generally have been taking
care of business.
Samhain is coming up in just a week. My altar is decorated and ready to go. I need to stop by 13 Moons to
pick up some herbs specifically relating to Samhain. Should have time this week. I hope. :-)
Well, that's it for now. Blessings to all!

Here is a little bit about me. I am a 45 year old Witch from Virginia. I've been practicing Wicca for about
16 years now. Yes, all is well. :-) I live in a nice condo by a river, I own two cats and a cockatiel. I
am interested in tarot, ouija, scrying of all kinds, Salem, MA., which I hope to visit soon, among other interests.
I have a website that is called Candles at Midnight - Salem Drake's Wiccan Resource Pages. I hope to make this
site an extension of my main site, and yet be a unique page with other items of interest for the witch, wiccan, and pagan
community.
Come back often and watch this website grow and change.
Love and Blessings,
Salem
