Jack Deardorff or as the family called him “Papa J” will be greatly missed not just
by those who are here today but by those that he crossed paths with on his frequent cross country trips. Weather at his same
old truck stop fueling station, quickie mart or the favorite café with the greasy biscuits and gravy special but still would
tease the waitress with the order he called the sheep herders breakfast. If you
don’t know what that is, see me afterwards. Dad always had goofy “JACKIZM”s, like if you said “HI
JACK” he would usually answer back “Don’t say that on a airplane” or absolutely out of this world
jokes like “What did the fish say when he hit the wall?”“DAM!!”
Even though my dad seemed ruff on the outside it just made so much room inside for his softness. He was never out to ever take advantage of anyone, all he ever wanted to do was help
and make a bad situation better for others, not knowing that he touched so many hearts. He was not just my dad he was my HERO; it is a tragedy that he has been taken from us suddenly. So many could have learned a lot by seeing the way he worked so hard for so long to make everything he
set his mind to happen, like dreams of a wonderful x-mas for Tasha, myself, and his grandchildren.Or for my mom to be able to have her dream house and her business.Thank God Tasha and I have acquired his strong will and have learned so much by watching this wonderful man, so we
could follow in his footsteps.
On August 9th my life, along with my families, changed drastically. We lost somebody who is very special to us all.I remember
hearing a family member put it best with the words “He was not just my Father-in-Law, He was my BEST FRIEND!”
and he was the same to many.
Daddy you will be missed dearly by all.Our hearts will be forever overflowing with love and memories that you gave to us.
