China painting is not a fast project. After a white piece of china has been designed and painted it must
be placed in a kiln and fired at a very high heat. This allows the paint to fuse with the underglaze.
When it has cooled and been sanded it will be painted again and refired. Most pieces take 3 to 4 fires but sometimes
as many as 6 or more fires go into some pieces. All the paint and many fires gives the pieces those wonderful rich, deep
colors and illusive effects.
