DAISY TROOP
WELCOME TO GIRL SCOUTING!!!!
Daisy level
is the foundation for the next levels of Gil Scouting. During the year we will have lots of crafts, some field trips and will
learn about Girl Scouting.
Girl
Scouts has four basic goals:
- Help the girls develop their full potential.
- Help the girls relate to others.
- Help the girls develop a meaningful set of values.
- Help the girls contribute to the improvement of society.
The activities that we do
will be designed to fulfill these goals.
The girls will learn the
guiding principles of Girl Scouting, which are the Girl Scout Promise and the Girl Scout Law. As they learn each one of the
Promise and the Law, they will receive the part of a daisy which goes on their vests.
GIRL SCOUT PROMISE
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
GIRL SCOUT LAW
I will do my best to be
Honest and fair,
Friendly and helpful,
Considerate and caring,
Courageous and strong, and
Responsible for what I say and do, and to
Respect myself and others,
Respect authority,
Use resources wisely,
Make the world a better place, and
Be a sister to every Girl Scout.
The activities
of the year at glance are:
- Songfest in October
- Bug-a-boo day camp in October
- Visit to the Pumpkin patch in October
- Movie in November
- Visit to the nursing home to bring some Thanksgiving decorations
- Festival of Lights in December
- Christmas parade in December
- Girl’s birthday celebration in January.
- Nursing home visit for Valentine’s Day.
- Zoo visit in April.
- Bridging ceremony in May.
We also have as optional
activities a Build-a bear experience and some other council-sponsored activities. All
these activities, crafts and snacks carry a price tag.
DUES POLICY
My policy in setting up the dues is to divide evenly between the girls the approximate cost of the activities
for the year, and then ask the parents for that amount.
All the activities
and crafts will have a patch included and on field trips we will provide the lunch. Also to avoid snack problems, Tiffany
and I will be in charge of buying them thought the year.
Girl Scouts
USA mandates that sound books are kept, and I as leader am responsible of presenting to council a financial statement, at
the end of each fiscal year (June). You as parents are free to ask for the records on how the money is spent at any time.
The more expensive
activities (such as Build-a-bear) are optional and their cost is extra from the annual dues.
After considering
these facts I came to the amount of $30 as annual dues which are payable to Troop 477. Please send them as soon as possible
so that I can buy the patches and craft supplies for the girls.
We will open
a checking account for the troop as soon as we get a troop number.
