HARBOR DRIVE-IN

Location:23444 S. Vermont Ave. Harbor City.
Year built:N/A
Operated by:Great Western Theatres Inc.
Vehicle Capacity:592
Notes:

I have confirmed it was indeed on the east side of Vermont just north of Sepulveda behind Zody's. There is no sign of it left. I remember the theater was set back from the street a bit and it was the only DI I remember that actually displayed posters out front on a signboard, which you drove past to enter the theater near the screen. Screen faced Sepulveda, entrance on Vermont. I do not remember the theater's overall size but I think it was not very large. It was independently owned I believe. Always displayed the current and next show using 3 sheets which were regularly stolen.
This place was a real dive. The concession stand/projection booth looked like it would fall over and the screen was too small to properly carry "scope" films. Picture was always too dark, too.
[It was] one of the first drive-ins in my area that disappeared.
