LAKE DRIVE-IN

Location:Big Bear Lake
Year built:N/A
Operated by:Independent
Vehicle Capacity:N/A
Notes:

As I recall, Big Bear Lake in the San Bernadino Mt's had a small d/i (probably accomadated 500 cars) just w/o the village of Big Bear Lake. I believe it was called Lake Drive-in. I think it closed in the early 70's, but the screen is still standing and what was the snack stand and projector house is now a real estate office.

In the winter I remember renting snow mobiles and riding through the parking lot. The last movies I recall seeing there were a couple of Clint Eastwood movies. Good, Bad & Ugly and For a Few Dollars More.

There is no marquee today, but the screen is still standing and in fair shape. The structure in the middle of the lot is the old snack stand/projection house, which was turned into a real estate office....I believe it to be Spencers Real estate offices in Big Bear by Boulder Bay. The road to the north of the d/i site is Cal hwy #18 .
