The Swing Session

What is The Swing Session?

The Swing Session is first and foremost a class. It is also a place to practice without pressure's or insecurities. It's a place to meet and get to know better your fellow dancers. You can also ask other dancers questions and gain from their knowledge without feeling awkward about it.

The Swing Session's goals:

  1. Provide a positive growth environment
  2. Allow free exchange of ideas among all dancers
  3. Achieve a multitiered community of dancers by growing all dancers
  4. Promote exposure to various types of swing partner dances
  5. Promote local venues in a nonpartisan way
  6. Strongly encourage a progressive dance paradigm
  7. Encourage a fluid exchange of new music for dancing to
  8. Raise the overall level of dancing in Tampa Bay
  9. Educate current and new members of dance community
  10. Facilitate connections and develop relationships among dancers.

Class Content: Classes focus on our syllabus’s content, with each student progressing at their own rate.

When is it?    Mondays from 8-10:30 P.M.

The Format:

    8-8:10 doors open and sign in
    8:10 warm-up
    8:15 class begins
    9:30 classes end and practice time begins
    10:20 clean up begins and everyone says their goodbyes till next week

Directions:

    Take I-275 to 54th Ave. S. Exit Head East on 54th Ave. S. Take a right onto 4th St. Continue south until you reach Bay Vista Recreation Center. The center will be on your left.
