   / noun: a loose group of obsessed "dance nerds" in the greater               Tampa Bay area who devote all their time and effort to               keeping the swing scene fun and thriving via dance               education and exposure

Our Purpose & Goals
   Purpose
     - The main purpose of PSG is to have MORE FUN!!
     - Our definition of Swing Dancing is any partner dance done         socially during the greater big band era to jazz music of 4/4 or         2/4 timing, it's precursers, and later evolutions. So as not to         promote one sector or genre of swing dancing, we teach and         promote dance styles from every era and to all kinds of music!         You can learn to dance to everything from Dixieland Jazz,         Blues, and Big Band to Funk, Punk, Pop, and Hip Hop!
     - We aim to raise awareness in dance history, music, dance instruction, style diversity, venues,         and events!

   Goals
     - To build up the swing dance community via dance education, exposure, and to generally just         pump some life into the swing scene!
     - To teach and preserve the various forms of swing dancing through social outreach via dance         classes, the internet, organizing local events, the Public Library Swing Initiative, and much         more!

PSG Membership
PSG is not a closed organization, meaning, we gladly accept new members! We are here solely to educate and pass down our knowledge to the future swing educators!
