Who should go to Training? If you have completed an Adult Scout Leader application,
you should be going to Training. Every adult Scout leader position has important tasks in bringing the program to the
pack, troop, team, or crew.
In a Boy Scout Troop, if you registered as a:
- Scoutmaster
- Assistant Scoutmaster
- Troop Committee Chair
- Troop Committee Member, or
- Chartered Partner Representative
The leadership training philosophy of the Boy Scouts of America
is to provide adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and purposes of the movement, as well as specifics
about their particular roles in Scouting. The journey from Fast Start to Wood Badge is a seamless progression for adults
and an unending benefit for BSA youth.
Start your training with Boy Scout Leader Fast Start. Then attend New Leader Essentials with Youth Protection Training.
For Scoutmasters and Asst. Scoutmasters, you need to continue with Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training
which also includes: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. For Troop Committee Chairs and Members, your next step is
Troop Committee Challenge.
