WA6JBD, 10 GHz and up Contest, August 2005
WA6JBD at Bully Choop, set up and ready to go. We found a wide spot in the road just below the lookout tower.
The gate
prevented us from going any further, but it's just as well. A group of hams going to the top to fix a 2 meter repeater said it
was WINDY up there!
Another view at Bully Choop. I just finished working Frazier at 726 km.
The view is to the north, blocked as you can see...
the contact with Mt. Shasta
was via a bounce off something in the valley.
Close up of the x band rig, all 30 watts of it. Danger, 4000 volts. Real radios can kill you!
CM97TE, somewhere between Merced and Chowchilla. Tons of mosquitos
but not one bite. Could it be the healthy diet
of beef jerky and Gatoraid?
