Welcome to Speech 135, Mass Media and Society! Sometimes it's easier to connect with students if they know a little
about the teacher as a person. This is something I always do in my on-campus classes so we get to know each other,
and I feel it is equally important to do so here. So, here goes!
I am a graduate of San Bernardino Valley College (however, I was on the 8-year plan!). Eventually, I transferred
to Cal State San Bernardino where I received my B.A. in Communication Studies. From there, I went to CSU Fullerton where
I received my M. A. in Speech Communication. Finally, I received my Ed.D. in Education from USC--fight on, Trojans!
I have been teaching for eleven years and have taught a variety of communication classes here, at other community
colleges, and at Cal State. Currently, I am the Dean of Humanities at SBVC and am teaching this class as an adjunct
faculty member for the Speech Department.
I am an avid football fan and go to many Charger games (hey, before you laugh, they are the only professional team in
town!) and USC games when I can. I also make a mean tamale--from scratch!
