Have a conversation with someone at least 25 years older than you.
Try to get a sense of his or her music-buying habits when they were teenagers and young adults. What physical format
were their sound recordings in? Who were their favorite artists? Where did they buy their music?
How did they first become interested in the music they bought? If they had a collection, was it large? How
have their music-buying habits changed since? What role did live performances play in their decisions to purchase music?
In the corresponding etudes shell assignment, complete the following:
1. Describe your interviewee's experience with recordings.
2. What about you? Are your habits different? Describe
your own experience with recordings.
