Many observers have commented that the internet and new media technologies are expanding faster than the government can regulate them.  Check out the FCC’s website, http://www.fcc.gov.  Surf through the site to get a feel for the FCC as an organization—its divisions and parts.  Jot down notes about what you learn about the FCC through this process.  Then, using the site’s press releases, reports, or headlines, report on a current issue or trend involving new media and regulation.  Describe the conflict or question involved and the steps taken by the FCC to resolve the issue through discussions of policy changes or regulations.  Remember to record your responses in the corresponding etudes assignment shell.
