Meena and Her Golden Chandra

A doll with a story.

Meena is 17 inches tall (top of head) in this pose. (She is a 35% reduction) The Torso is made from two pieces with breast add-on. Legs are in a permanent right angle and are wired for strength and stability. Hands are wired with thick chenille stems and are attached with button joints. The head is a 5 part profile with chin gusset. Shoes are selected from Theasures of the Gypsy, 3 1/2 inch. Hair is thrift store wig cut and stitched on. The shaft for Golden Chandra is created with wire and nylon stocking.

Irena of Kaluga

A doll dressed in old linens.

Irena is a European peasant girl. She is dressed for the spirng Sunday village celebration. Irena is 17 inches tall (top of head). She uses all kinds of linens, table cloths and doilies from the thrift store and your faimily stash. Torso is made from two pieces with breast add-on. Legs are wired for strength and stability. Hands are wired with thick chenille stems, and arms are attached with button joints. The head is a 5 part profile with chin gusset. Shoes are stitched from wool felt. Hair is thrift store wig, cut and stitched on.

Since entering art school there are not very many new dolls being made. I also have to ski every day in the winter months and play poker everyday in the fall. It's all good.
