Our Reviews of The

in Pomona
(also known as the L.A.County Fairgrounds)
At first glance the Fairplex reminds you of place where a County Fair might be held. Why? Because it is held here. It is the home of the L.A. County Fair which takes place every year. It is also home to Horse Racing, Drag Racing, Livestock Shows and Computer Swap Meets.

The fist thing you must know about the Fairplex is that it is just like the wild, old west. There is no order or procedures in place for move in or move out of shows. Because each building has several freight doors and several double-wide glass crash doors, people tend to park everywhere and anywhere to facilitate their moving in. Most shows even allow the exhibitors to drive directly to their booth spaces to unload. This is unacceptable to me but what the hell do I know?

The "Exhibit Halls" are actually domed buildings with little or no docks. There are actually 3 dock spots at the rear of building #4 and this is where most of the shows are held. But we use these docks mainly for our own usage trailers. The dock spots are too tight to get over-the-road tractor/trailers into them. So we don't even try.

The following are pictures of the 3 dock spots at the rear of building #4.

If they would just get rid of this small rock wall and those few trees, it would be so much easier to back in.
This picture was taken while standing on the dock. The trailer you see is backing into the only open hole. The large building you see in the background is the Sheraton Hotel.
