I have been an active member of the American Institute of Architects for the last 40
years. This started in Baltimore,
where I began my professional career. I then moved on to Dallas
and finally Los Angeles. During this
entire time, my commitment to the AIA has been unwavering.
My experience includes employment in
large and small firms alike. As Vice Chairman of RTKL Associates, I was fortunate
to be involved in projects all over the country as well as all over the world. This
has allowed me the opportunity to associate with many different architects across the globe.
My unique experience, has given me a clear understanding of what our membership wants and needs, regardless of the
size of their firm or the part of the country they are from.
As a member of the Board of Directors
and the Board Advocacy Committee for the last two years, I have been part of, what I believe is, a rebirth for the AIA. The excitement and energy that is present today far exceeds any in recent history. Our new Strategic Plan is reflective of that energy in its prioritizing, expansion,
and goal setting for AIA programs. These programs are well underway in advancing our Advocacy, Knowledge, and Community
Agendas.
I am committed to expanding the AIA’s
support of our membership and furthering our influence in society. I need your
vote for Vice President so that we can advance and serve the needs of our profession together.
For those of you
who would like to know more about my professional career I invite you to take a moment and look at my resume.
